A Review of Practices and Expert Opinions: Linking Humanitarian Action and Peacebuilding

Masayo Kondo Rossier works in the Emergency Preparedness Section of the Emergency Services Branch at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). She also studies at the Graduate Institute in the International Relations / Political Science programme. Ms Kondo Rossier will present the working paper she wrote during her four-month UN sabbatical leave at the CCDP. The paper, available online, seeks to demonstrate practical ways in which humanitarian action can contribute to sustainable peacebuilding.

The seminar will be chaired by CCDP's Director Keith Krause, Professor of International
Relations / Political Science at the Graduate Institute. Norah Niland, Research Associate at the CCDP with extensive experience working with the UN in the humanitarian field, will serve as discussant for the seminar.
