The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Graduate Institute's Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) will jointly host the panel Cities and Peace: Perspectives from the fields of Urban Safety, Security Sector Governance, and Peacebuilding.
This lunchtime briefing provides an overview of major research and policy efforts of Geneva-based actors in urban contexts. It presents key findings from projects related to urban safety, security sector governance, and sustaining peace in cities.

This panel will be part of the Geneva Peace Week 2017
Geneva Peace Week is a collective action initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation. By synchronizing events on different topics related to the promotion of peace during one week, Geneva Peace Week attempts to maximize synergies between organizations in Geneva, focused on the cross-cutting nature of peace.
