In addition to the substantive work on the five focus themes, the Platform remains alert to service short-notice requests for events or informal exchanges on critical peacebuilding issues as they emerge. Examples of such efforts are:
Preparedness Financing
Efforts on ‘Preparedness’ stand in the focus of the Inter-agency Standing Committee (IASC) Transformative Agenda. The Platform – represented by its Executive Coordinator – has been invited by the Food and Agricultural Organization to serve on the Advisory Panel for the Study on Preparedness Funding - Phase 2.

Conflict-Sensitive Trade
In partnership with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), the Platform facilitated an exploratory multi-stakeholder meeting on ‘Conflict-Sensitive Trade’. This effort focuses the potential peacebuilding opportunities and consequences of business and trade in areas such as public procurement, value chain management, Aid-for-Trade initiatives and country-specific experiences with trade development in fragile and conflict-affected areas.
