Despite growing attention in recent years, the gap between low income countries and fragile states remains wide. Few fragile contexts have graduated, successfully managing the state-building transition. This event will start with a policy presentation of the OECD DAC Guidance on Statebuilding; which calls for development agencies to work differently in the world’s most challenging contexts. Supporting state-building demands the end of business as usual. The policy presentation of the Guidance Note will be followed by a Q&A session. After a coffee break, a second part will consist of a seminar where practitioners from fragile environments will share their own first hand experiences. An open debate will conclude the event.
