Ukraine: Perspectives on Conflict and Peace

Events

Tuesday 27 February, 12:15-13:45
Maison de la Paix, Auditorium Ivan Pictet (A)

The focus of this event is to understand perspectives on conflict and peace from the 'bottom-up' with a specific focus on the perspectives of people living in the Donbas region. What are their aspirations, hopes and fears? And, how can a quest for peace grow from the bottom-up? The event builds on Anna Matveeva's recent book 'Through Times of Trouble: Conflict in Southeastern Ukraine Explained from Within' (Lexington Books, 2018).

Speaker: Dr Anna Matveeva is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London

Comments: Paul Dziatkowiec, Project Manager, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Geneva

Moderation: Dr Achim Wennmann, Executive Coordinator, Geneva Peacebuilding Platform
