The painting created by Argentinian artist Fernando Cometto,, artist-in-residence for Geneva Peace Week 2024, was conceived as more than an artistic gesture – it is a symbol of solidarity and connection between creativity and peacebuilding. This unique artwork, which captured the spirit of dialogue, resilience, and collective healing, will be sold at the price of 5,000 Swiss francs to any interested individual or organization. Proceeds from the sale will directly support the hosting of a young peacebuilder at GPW25.
Fernando Cometto’s presence at Geneva Peace Week 2024 brought a new dimension to our understanding of peace. His artistic interventions drew from reflection and expression, aimed at amplifying the role of creativity in conflict transformation and social cohesion and offering participants a moment of stillness and introspection amid an intense week of rich dialogue and exchange.
Fernando Cometto has exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Instituto Cervantes, Galerie Evelyne Héno, and the Musée de la Création Franche, and participated in renowned events like the Salon de Mai in Paris and the Semaine de l’Amérique Latine in Bordeaux. His portfolio also includes works featured in international museums like the Musée de la Création Franche and the Musée d’Art Spontané in Brussels.
